Uraba lugens
The larvae of a Nolidae moth. This one is on it's third or fourth moult and was about 12mm long. The tail, or hat as some describe it, is shed skins from previous moults. The hairs can cause skin irritation.
Normally found in large numbers on eucalyptus trees.
This one probably came in the house on some laundry. I found it sitting on the arm of a chair.
