Red and Black spider

Ambicodamus crinitus

Description:

A small spider about 10 mm long with a blue black rounded abdomen and uniformly red legs and cephalothorax. The abdomen had a pale blue streak on the upper side.

Habitat:

Eucalyptus forests

Notes:

This little spider was found clambering up a Casuarina tree (the area had gum trees). Very fast moving. Could not get more or better shots as he was so fast! I saw one of these being killed and bundled away by a Daddy Long-leg spider (Pholus phalangioides), the other week.
