Actophilornis africanus
This bird has very large spreading feet so it can walk on vegetation floating on the river. African jacanas (Actophilornis africanus) are waders in the family Jacanidae, identifiable by long toes and long claws that enable them to walk on floating vegetation.
Seen along the Kazinga Channel between Lake George and Lake Edward. Birds of the tropics, they walk on floating vegetation in shallow lakes, their preferred habitat.
