Stichelia bocchoris
Sounds good! And tell him, if he has some interesting links I would be very interested in. During the last months I was a little bit more careful with IDs as in the beginning on flickr. Before I was probably too enthousiastic. And I stop looking further when I did not find a hint in 5 min. OK, there are some of for example yours which I will ID once. Look at species from Ecuador and Colombia, there are species I never heard of and tons of non-identified bugs. and I think Brazil is about the same. And sometimes a little ID-fight is very exciting (at least when it is not 1:10)...
Ok, let me clear it: Panara was a sugestion from the entomologist, right? So, I am taking Stichelia, as you sugested, untill I can talk to him, because your sugestion seems better than his one. More on this matter later.
Well, I don't have to explain anything, I barely know it is a butterfly ( I never concealed my ignorance ). And Ivo's picture is clearly similar to mine. So, I still put my money on you. I'll keep the old ID, and I'll take it to that entomologist tomorrow, and hear what he has to say about it. :-)
And that's "my" Stichelia, assuming that Ivo's ID is correct, what I think it is.

Disagree! I checked Panara soana, at least what I found on the net (BOA still out!), so I had to check with thumbnails. You have to explain me the missing red collar and white margin in Panara soana.
That's a fantastic spotting!! Riodinidae/Metalmark. Unfortunately you can't see the beautiful orange necklace in the old pictures in the link. But you can trust my ID ;-)...
