Papilio machaon
Swallow Tail (Papilio machaon), Langnau im Emmental, Emmental, Switzerland
If you look at #4 you won't see anything beside this little irregularity in the grass. That's what I thought, something is wrong there and it was: No grass, but a wonderful Swallowtail. Tricky conditions: windy and warm, late daylight from the side, with a lot of shadows of the grass blades on the wings. But at the end I got a good shot from the side. I think it might be "our" swallowtail we released 1 week before, I remembered the missing tail on the hindwing.

Lovely!:-)
I like swallowtails. I'd upload a spotting of a citrus swallowtail tomorrow :)
Very pretty!
Hope this year they will be on my Buddleja again.
Loved the colors.
you clearly are an artist!
Lovely!
Great job!
Bayucca, unfortunately I don't have any butterflies photographed in Europe. I am Australian, living in India, and have little reason to go to Europe. Good luck with the group though, pamsai
Please, join the new mission of European butterflies and moths and post all your corresponding spottings. We need a lot of people which would join the group to make it global! Thanks and best regards from Switzerland!
