Description:

This species specializes on plants of the genus Lysimachia, mostly Lysimachia vulgaris. Unlike most other solitary bees , Macropis mostly harvest the oily - substance from the plants since Lysimachia actually does not produce (that much ) pollen. They also have a specific parasite Epeoloides coecutiens, which in Belgium is a very rare species. See my observations to see this very colorfull species too
