I tentatively vote for Fowler's toad (Bufo fowleri). If the cranial crests touch the parotoid glands, it's B. fowleri. If they do not touch, it's Bufo americanus (American toad).
No worries Ceci! Trying to find IDs is a lot of fun, but it's a good idea to check for species distribution as well. The Encyplodia of Life (EOL) provides great maps for the distribution of many species. Check it out :-) http://eol.org/

There are 2 types of toads in Ohio per this resource: Eastern American Toad (more likely) and Fowler's Toad. Both are 2-3 inches.

I don't have an ID for this spotting, but Alytes obstetricans is a European species.
It is an America toad.
