I believe this specimen is a juvenile collared kingsnake, but i may be wrong. If you know please leave a comment.
Found the little guy crossing the sidewalk on campus and grabbed him up after i ID'd it.
Saying a ring-necked snake is "mildly venomous" is highly misleading. They are rear-fanged, and are not a danger to humans in the least bit. There is zero problems with this person handling this snake, though I will agree you should not pick up a snake unless you are sure of the ID.
Ring-necked Snake, if I'm correct, is "mildly venomous" - be sure of your ID when you handle snakes :)
