I wish we had a store like Trader Joes, in Florida. That is interesting, its used for motion sickness, that's from the inner ear?

If you are sea sick or have motion sickness ginger helps. I buy ginger candy from trader Joe for motion sickness. That is when you are on a boat or roller coasters.

Ginger is root of the plant,( photo shown). The flower of ginger smell good also. (white in color).
For cooking fish, we cut ginger to small piece and put on top of fish, can remove the un pleasant smell of fish.
If you have headache after staying outside with strong wind, you can drink ginger tea ( ginger + brown suger). Your headache will gone within few minute.
Modern method to release pain of flu is "Ginger coke" - boiling coke together with ginger, and add a piece of lemon is fine also.

Emma, This picture clearly shows Human benefit thing than an Organism. It must have coat of mud if it is organism. Its important to show this root with plant grown above it. For human benefit it is ready to sold in market so as per my consideration it is not an Organism.

Rhizome is a characteristically horizontal stem of a plant that is usually found .
under ground.
Ginger is a Rhizome.
If a rhizome is separated into pieces, each piece may be able to give rise to a new plant. This is a process known as vegetative reproduction.
Therefore ginger is a living organism.
