i don't know about it, but it looks a lot like "carob tree". try using it as a help to find your species. i know this one grows in europe, don't know about usa though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ceratonia_s... hope it helps!

Yes, Honey Locust is it! I have one, it has no thorns, but it's super tall. I have seen one with huge thorns though. Quite a tree!

Looks like a honey locust to me.

If so it would have massive thorns and compound leaves.

I have one of these trees in my yard, but I cannot recall the name. :( I think it had the word 'honey' in it, though.
