Description:

American Persimmon,. Also called Common Persimmon, Eastern Persimmon, Possumwood, or Sugar-plum. It ranges from southern Connecticut to Florida, and west to Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kansas. There are about five trees growing wild in the backyard. The persimmons are round and orange-yellow in color. Size from 2 through 6 cm (0.79 through 2.4 in) in diameter. These persimmons provide food for the deer and fox that come through the backyard.
