Tip Wilter Bug nymph

Description:

a flat bodied, orange coloured bug about 2.5cm in length. All 6 legs had white bands on the distal parts and the antennae had two pale bands. each, near the tips.

Habitat:

Dry schlerophyll eucalyptus forest

Notes:

This beautiful looking bug was sitting on the leaf of a plant (Goodenia ovata) that is seen everywhere at this time of year. It is a nymph of a eucalyptus tip-wilter bug - probably a later instar.

It's on goodenia ovata, a common native and often planted in parks. The bug is way too conspicuous in its show off jacket!
