Those species that make easily heard noises usually do so by rubbing the hind femurs against the fore wings. Females are normally larger than males. Males have a single unpaired plate at the end of the abdomen. Females have two pairs used to dig in sand when egg laying.
Widespread in U.S.
Found it at my friend's house on the car then it flew away with the wind.
