Green Jay or Inca Jay

Cyanocorax yncas

Description:

Blue green bird, with black throat and cheeks and yellow breast. It's neck is bright blue and it has the same bright blue coloured patch under its eye. It has a long tail and it's eyes are yellow. It seems to have a bit of fluffy hair on top of his beak. I think it is some kind of Tanager but I can not find the right one. In Caracas you do not want to walk with your nice zoom camera so I was restricted to my small Canon with hardly any zoom. Sorry not so good quality but still a lovely bird to spot.

Habitat:

Cerro del Avila, Altamira, Caracas, Venezuela.

Notes:

There were two or three in the trees near the entree of del Avila. I was very excited but the locals that were there did not seem to be as excited as me. They called this a "Cachaquito" which I believe is a Tanager but as I said before, which one I don't know. If anyone out there does know please send me an ID.

I thought tanager too, but the bill and the eye were wrong. I am quite certain it is a Green Jay.
