Green-spored Parasol

Chlorophyllum molybdites

Description:

Almost spherical when young, it flattens out in maturity. Photos 2 and 3 show the red staining on the stem and the loose collar.

Habitat:

Very poisonous, this mushroom grows on lawns and is found throughout most of the world except Europe and New Zealand.

Notes:

Also called False Parasol? Found many of them in all different stages on the grass at Laupahoehoe Pt, Big Island, Hawaii.
