Description:

Family: Sphingidae. Subfamily: Macroglossinae. Length: Different instars. up to 89 mm as an estimate. Coloring: Variable, Green, black, yellow, orange with distinctive spots or blotches. Feeding on Evening of primrose. Other host plants are apple, elm, grape, tomato and purslane.

Habitat:

Meadow with abundant flowers and plants. Near woodlands and large lake.

Notes:

Found more than 20 variable in coloring caterpillars on Evening of Primrose plant.
