Blue Mormon

Papilio polymnestor

Habitat:

spotted in my garden in Tamil Nadu, India

Notes:

It seems like it is the season of the Blue Mormon in my garden! This morning I saw 2 more, after seeing 1 yesterday for the first time this year. They were different from yesterday in that they didn't have the red flash on the shoulder. I think I might have shots of both of them here. It was difficult to keep track of who was who! Especially when they were dancing around together, then one would land. At one time, one was busy feeding, during which time it kept fluttering it's wings, but in the shot I got, though a bit blurry, the probiscus was right in the center of the flower.
