This butterfly prefers the real deep and dark rainforest

Tambopata rainforest area is one of the most biodiverse places on earth! More than 700 species of birds, 1200 species of butterfly (!!!), 90 mammal species, 120 species of reptiles and amphibians.

I saw this species a few weeks ago in the same region. It just would not settle for me to take a picture, but an absolutely stunning butterfly. I know you posted this a few years ago now bayucca but you have done a fantastic job of it.

Wow! This is an amazing butterfly! I sure wanted to go down to the amazon when I was there last year. Although we had three weeks there just wasn't enough time. I took a shot of this moth that looks like a hieroglyphic moth, however, it has a red spot on the top of its' head and irridescent blue legs...could you confirm the I.D.? Thanks, have a great night!
