Description:

Grows on trees and color green looks like little small leaves. Most live on oak tree bark tree. Kingdom: Fungi Division: Ascomycota Class: Lecanoromycetes Order: Lecanorales Family: Parmeliaceae Genus: Flavoparmelia Species: F. caperata

Habitat:

On bark of trees, but occasionally on rock. I also saw a few rocks that had it on it so they grow also in rock.

Notes:

January 18 2012 is the day that we went outside. We went outside for the Lichen observation and to find also Lichen. Then my group and I started to searched the area we searched for Lichen near the school area in the woods. We saw a couple of Lichen which is color green and we also took a picture of the lichen to show that we found lichen.Were going to brought the picture in school so we can identify and searched to the computer what is the lichen kingdom and what kind of lichen. But the day that we went outside is the temperature was 4’c there are still snow in the ground and its really windy but we still found the lichen we did our best to find this lichen thing.
