wing span of about 2cms ..brown markings

Habitat:

Attracted to the back deck light.

Notes:

Looked through the "Insects of Tasmania" site to help with an ID..this is as close as i could find. Please correct if i am wrong. :)

Hi Charlie.. after looking around I think this one is a geometrid - Anachloris subochraria. The underlying patterns fit better to my eye.
