Description:

Even though this iguana is clearly orange, he is still called a green iguana.

Habitat:

Many tropical areas of the world but this one lives in the Cockerell Butterfly house in Houston Tx.

Neither did I until a recent trip to Costa Rica during Iguana breeding season. I have several spottings with the bright orange pigment showing

I don't know enough about iguanas to say if it was poor accommodations or not, and he looks healthy and all, but he's a BIG guy and when you think about them living in the wild and just how small an enclosure he's in, well, it just doesn't seem proportionate.

I agree - I'm surprised that a butterfly house has such poor accommodate for its exhibits.

His eyes were very beautiful, just like the rest of him. I hate seeing such a majestic creature confined into a small cage.
