Approximately 3.5 feet long with a lovely iridescent sheen under strong flashlight beam. Creamy white belly.
Mostly terrestrial, active mostly at night.
Found this along a remote trail at the ACTS field station in Loreto Peru.

Fun fact! Rainbow boas are so named because of the iridescent sheen created by microscopic ridges on their scales, which act like prisms to refract light into rainbows.

That spiral rainbow iridescence in the fold of the snake simply blows me away!
They are one of my favorites snakes! They are really really beautiful, and I love the fact when they get hit by light you can see some shimmering reflections, just like the CD's!
