Fun fact! Rainbow boas are so named because of the iridescent sheen created by microscopic ridges on their scales, which act like prisms to refract light into rainbows.

This beautiful Rainbow Boa has been chosen to kick-off Amazon Awareness Week! We're looking forward to seeing more incredible biodiversity from the Amazon this week as we work together with the Amazon Rainforest Workshops team to spread awareness and encourage conservation. Help us spread the word!

"The colorful iridescent sheen captured in this photo is what gives the beautiful Rainbow Boa its fitting name."

They are one of my favorites snakes! They are really really beautiful, and I love the fact when they get hit by light you can see some shimmering reflections, just like the CD's!
