Unnamed spotting

Altensteinia sp.

Notes:

I was told this is an orchid. It was about 5 inches tall, found in high altitude (around 11,000 ft) cloud forest.

@Craig: I looked at both of your links and around a little bit more. I am inclined to lean toward A. viriscens, but my experience is minimal. Thanks for the links!

Wow Kate, you really made my day with this one! Thank you. What lovely little orchid and an amazingly rich habitat. Great photo too, really gives me wanderlust!
This does seem to be a fairly good match for Altensteinia fimbriata but there is at least one other sp. at altitude in Ecuador, Altensteinia viriscens and without a decent description and close up look for comparison, I think it's difficult to be certain. Here's a description and pic of A.virescens: http://www.orchidspecies.com/altsps.htm
