Black-billed Magpie

Pica hudsonia

Description:

Large (~45-50 cm length overall) bird with black head and throat, white breast and wingtips, with some iridescent blue-green in the tail.

Habitat:

Urban area within large arid plain/prairie.

Notes:

Spotted foraging within a caravan (RV) park. There were actually several individuals observed. Also spotted several more of this species the previous day at a caravan park in Colorado, but will not make a duplicate spotting.
