Melanitis leda
A medium sized brown butterfly that landed in the shade under some bushes. Melanitis leda, the common evening brown, is a common species of butterfly found flying at dusk. If disturbed during the day, they fly for a few meters, close to the ground, then rest again amongst dry leaves. They are alomost impossible to see unless disturbed.
Seen along a path running beside a river in an area with a mix of mangroves, rainforest & open grassland.
