Laccaria sp.
Orange-brown cap and stipe. Gills were pinkish and waxy. Mushrooms were less than 2" tall.
Spotted growing out from underneath a felled tree in a mixed forest bordering a swamp. Laccaria mushrooms are mycorrhizal and form symbiotic partnerships with trees.
