Found this fly dancing around this beautiful orange black caterpillar ( i will never know what the fly's ambitions were) who was basking and enjoying the lush green foliage of an acacia vine with his/her friends.

Good observation Sukanya, but as you said the bright colours could tip off the caterpillar.
Maybe it wanted to lay eggs on the caterpillar?? Who knows. Very colourful (warning colours) caterpillar...likely not a good host to the eggs...therefore the checking out (dancing) maybe? Just speculating :)
