Lepidoptera - Species ( Junonia atlites )

Description:

The sexes of this butterfly are similar, although females are slightly larger than the males and have slightly angular wings. The wings are shaded and overlaid with grey patterns and the underside of the wings is cream colored with the same pattern as the upperside. The caterpillar is black with fine branched spines and silver spots and it feeds on water hyssop ( Bacopa monnieri).

Habitat:

Lowland near swamps and lakes/ torpical forest.
