Description:

The Meadow Brown is a common butterfly found in the Palearctic ecozone. It is univoltine (one brood per year) and hibernates as a caterpillar.

Habitat:

Alpine meadow, alt. 1500 m.

Notes:

This species is characterized by variable number of smaller eyespots found on the hindwing undersides.
