Glacier Lily

Erythronium grandiflorum

Description:

These lovely flowers have two green leaves that are up to 20 cm long. The flower stalk may be up to 30 cm, but are often shorter. Each stalk bears one to three yellow flowers with white stamens and red anthers.

Habitat:

Subalpine meadows.

Notes:

The flower produces an underground bulb favored by grizzly bears.
