I read:)i'll never tried this kind of thing before research much more,never,but if Ava say that toyon is poison to mamals,it was because the information was peraphs about other cotoneaster.But i promise that i only tried if i had ALL the information about,not only a breaf conversation here:)i'am afraid of eating bizarre things,only if i se someone do it ,no problem

Birds can eat them, especially Cedar Waxwings love them!

I'm not taking the class yet, but i will in the next year. I do no you must NOT eat Toyon berries -- they are toxic to mammals.

@Ava i'am allways learning here,i remember that i have another spotting of toyon or cotonester from my beginig here and you id that one for me and told me that the indian people toasted them and eat it,i have intentions of trie that recepy one of this days:)

Ya..initially i was totally confused with all the red berries...now I can well identify cotoneaster, toyon, pyracantha, brazil peppper and nandina berries

This is so interesting because the berries look like toyon and like pyracantha, but the leaves say Seema is correct.

We have couple of these bushes laden with lovely red berries in our garden.

i thougth that holy's had the leaves whith pics ,pointed pics,the berris are very similar almost the same,but these leaves are a bit diferents
