Twining Fringe-lily

Thysanotus patersonii

Description:

An attractive tiny climbing vine with flowers about 10mm wide but no visible leaves. The wiry stems use anything down to the size of grass stems to wind themselves around.

Habitat:

In a dry sclerophyll forest dominated by silver leafed stringybark eucalyptus. Baluk William Flora Reserve.

Notes:

Thanks for correct ID Vinny. Size of flower, twining habit, lack of leaves define species.

The climbing habit you've described sounds a bit like T. patersonii, T. tuberosus has a larger flower (4.5cm wide rather than 1.5cm) might help with the I.D...
