Tisiphone abeona albifascia
A large attractive butterfly which was cruising around in a lazy looping flight exploring the sword grass in a small nature reserve. Estimated size was about 60mm across. Rest with wings flat.
This local reserve adjoins a large national park and contains opne dry eucalyptus woodland, a small sedge edged lake and much sword grass (Gahnia sp.?)
Found mostly in southern Victoria.
