Description:

Family: Notodontidae (Prominent Moths). Length: 21-27 mm. Tawny Brown FW often has reddish shading. Head is red/orange. Blackish orbicular spots. Black dashes. Brownish shading on sings. Long dashes at tip of wings that are scalloped.

Habitat:

Woodlands, meadows where host plants are found. (Blueberry, birch, hickory, witch hazel, and other deciduous trees. Came to porch light.
