Brunfelsia pauciflora

Description:

Tropical shrub, up to about 3m high. Blooms in Spring, with flowers starting off purple, then fading to white over the course of a few days, hence the common name.

Habitat:

Native to woodland areas of Brazil. Popular garden plant in tropical and subtropical locations. This is a forest plant, and prefers mixed shade.

Notes:

Member of the Solanaceae or Nightshade family. As such, all parts of this plant are poisonous!
