Amanita muscaria var. guessowii
I have wanted to find this species for a long time!
The cap was broadly convex, bald, yellow, had a slightly lined margin, and was adorned with numerous whitish, cottony warts. The gills were white and crowded. The stipe was white, shaggy, and had a fragile, skirtlike ring. The stipe ended with a basal bulb that had rings of volval material.
Habitat: Growing on the edge of a pond among moss and ferns in a mixed forest.
