Description:

"Body white with broad black dorsal stripe and mottled black-and-white lateral stripe; bright orange knobs containing tufts of medium-length hair form a band around middle of each abdominal segment" (Bugguide.net, 2018)

Habitat:

Area is a gated man-made lake community, surrounded by rural agricultural land, and some deciduous forest areas. In areas that are not mowed, the land is old fields within the community, and are mowed biannually.
