Yellow Mountain Saxifrage

Saxifraga aizoides

Description:

This alpine saxifrage grows in small clumps and favors wet places. Its striking flowers are finely cut with five yellow petals and five green sepals.The Latin word saxifraga means literally "stone-breaker", well illustrated here in the second and third shot.

Habitat:

Wet rock face, alt. 1800m ASL.
