Plume Moth

Description:

A large Plume Moth or Feather Winged Moth of about 1.5 cm in length. The hind wings are feather like and are usually held folded up under the front pair of wings. You can see only little fringes protruding. This one stands on all six legs with the abdomen curled upwards. Family Pterophoridae.

Habitat:

Garden lights, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters.
