Overloaded halictid bee

Lasioglossum (Parasphecodes) sulthicum

Description:

I thought I was chasing a pure gold bee around for quite a while. Only later at home I realised this was a black bee almost totally covered with pollen. Ha!

Habitat:

On black wattle in a local nature reserve.

In Australia all the big stuff has been seen and named so that's boring. The small stuff is only about 5% discovered.

So Mark, how did you develop your interest in the small stuff like bugs, slime mold etc? You seem more into that than the larger stuff!
