Favolus alveolaris (DC. ex. Fr.)

Description:

Beautiful texture of the Hexagonal-pored Polypore. Fleshy, tough, scaly, reddish-yellow to cream cap (shown in image 4). Honeycombed , usually in radial rows or 6 sided to diamond-shaped.

Habitat:

On dead branches of deciduous tress, especially hickory, oak, willow, or elm.
