Lemon Emigrant

Catopsilia pomona pomona male f. hilaria

Description:

Wondering if this might be White Albatross? female, I guess, as it doesn't have the black spot on the forewing top? greenish yellow below, whiter on top, white legs, black antennae and black edging on the forewing top. About 3 - 4 inches across.

Habitat:

Perfectly camouflaged in the bougainvillea in the garden across from my place, I only saw this because I saw where it landed. They fly very fast, not fluttery like some butterflies, and rarely alight for long.

Notes:

Link says that female does not have the black dot like the male, so this could be a female. But this individual also is much more green than the photo in the link. Any help on this ID? Thanks!

Thanks for the perfect ID Lenny! I found your suggestion on Wiki but am wondering if you had another reference where I could read about this butterfly?

Yes, and it wasn't until I saw my photos cropped that I could see those details. I am very far away on my own porch and this is across the street in another garden. Like my lens!
