Gandaca harina mindanaensis
Male Tree Yellows, Gandaca harina mindanaensis Fruhstorfer 1910 (Pieridae; Coliadinae), nectaring on the beautiful flowers of Leea guineensis (Red Tree Vine, Abang-abang in Tagalog). G. h. mindanaensis is the ssp. existing in the Philippines excluding Basilan, Calamian, Palawan, Sulu archipelago. It is pale lemon-yellow and its underside has without any markings, entirely featureless, but from afar, it can be mistaken for a Eurema sp. Its upperside has a narrow black apical border on the forewing, with the female having a dentate projection along vein 4.
Spotted along the Binictican forest trail located in Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Hermosa Bataan.
