Description:

It is a very polymorphic species, with a wingspan of 26-32 mm. The imagos have black bluish wings with six red spots, of which the 5 and 6 are confluent and form a typical stain in form of kidney. The hind-wings are entirely red with a band outside bluish dark almost vestigial.

Habitat:

Open areas and meadows up to 2000 m. Spotted in mountain area at Parque Natural de Somiedo
