Carolina mantleslug

Philomycus carolinianus

Description:

How's this for a tanker truck of a slug? I saw several Carolina mantleslugs (and other kinds of slugs) during the late summer months of 2011, after first moving to the town of Valdosta in south Georgia. Posting this spotting makes me kind of wish there was a Mollusca category for spottings -- rather than having to include it in the Other category... But in a global environment such as ours, that menu could quickly become absurdly complex if we were to cover all the phylums! [janson jones http://dusttracks.com]
