Snout Moth

Rivula sp.

Description:

Tiny (3-5 mm) moth. Cream coloured with dark streaks. It reminds me of the space shuttles...its general body shape and that uplifted nose-cone!

Habitat:

The calloused palm of our office gardener. I was taking a walk in the lawns and the moth settled on his hand...instead of killing it with one jerk...he stood up and extended his palm towards me and asked for it to be photographed. The photo has not been cropped.

Notes:

I will call it my space-shuttle moth till someone on PN identifies it for me. PLEASE! Thanks, Nuwan for the ID.
