The long, white tail, the white neck patch and the white "ring" of fur around the nose are all traits that should help you distinguish white-tailed deer from other deer species.

Also, red deer are a European species and mule deer aren't found east of Saskatchewan.

I would say that the ears don't look large enough to be a mule deer.
