Great photos, Viv. It looks like a cup fungi to me, so I'd go for a Cookeina sp. as well. The Jelly ear fungus (Auricularia auricula) doesn't really have a stem like the one in your picture. Hope you can find the right ID.
I'd go along with that too, Viv. An image search for this species will show so many specimens that resemble your spotting. It is also cultivated in Thailand for eating. Well done, Sukanya.
