Wahlenbergia gymnoclada
Beautiful single blue flowers on delicate stalks with petals that were a perfect heart-shape. The inside of the flower showed a stark white tri-lobed stigma. The plant was about 50 cm high with paired leaves at the base and very few leaves at the top.
Spotted in semi shade in a dry sclerophyll forest among other native herbs and shrubs.
The flowers were part of indigenous diet and they also provide nectar for butterflies. Family: Campanulaceae
