Half-banded Semicincta Loach

Acanthophthalmus semicincta

Description:

Half-banded semicincta loaches are found in Malesia, in small brooks. Mine is about 1-1/2 to 2 inches in length, and it likes to hunt through the leaf litter at the bottom of the tank (I added leaf litter to make it more natural). Also in this tank are two cherry barbs (Barbus titteya), two skunk loaches (Yasuhikotakia morleti), an orange-finned loach (Y. modesta), a bronze cory (Corydoras aeneus), a southern platyfish (Xiphophorus maculatus), and a tire-track flowereel (Mastacembelus favus). The plant in the background is a Java fern (Microsorum pteropus). Sorry the picture isn't very good!

Habitat:

Planted 15-gallon aquarium

Notes:

None.
